Senior manager Mathias and junior manager Stefanie Aniwanter both love fishing with a passion. And if you feel like trying out your luck or if you are experienced at fishing, set out on your own! Your hosts will be happy to share tips regarding the best time of day and the best spots.

Please note that you will need a permit for fishing in Lake Millstätter See. You can order the permit at reception and then collect it in the Tourism Office in Millstatt am See.

Lake Millstätter See is the habitat for a great number of species

Fish are quite obviously happy in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Millstätter See. The lake harbours a particularly large variety of species, making it a popular meeting point for hobby fishermen casting lines or nets. “Reinanken”, a local whitefish variety, are particularly abundant here, in addition to lake trout, char, perch, catfish, perch, tench and many other. If you are patient and lucky enough, you may even catch a pike!

Early in the morning, when our guests are still fast asleep, we are already out on the lake to catch our fish. We have our own fishing area in Lake Millstätter See where we catch the whitefish that is then served for dinner in the most delicious creations.
