Ice skating around the Lake Millstatt
Pleasure on the ice
Ice skating enthusiasts also get their money's worth, because the many lakes of Carinthia, which linger in winter under a thick sheet of ice, invite you for the most part to skate on natural ice. Feel the fresh air in your nose and the cold wind around your ears while surrounded by a magnificent natural landscape. Lake “Weissensee”, which is only about 50 minutes away from Millstatt, is particularly suitable for ice skating. The lake is Europe's largest, permanently frozen natural ice rink and has perfectly groomed lanes. Here, turning laps becomes a very special experience.
Further possibilities are offered by the following ice rinks:
“Multisportanlage Seeboden“ (approx. 5 km, 5 minutes by car)
Ice rink Millstatt/Tschierweg (approx. 10 km, 15 minutes by car)
Ice skating is also possible in the large ice rink in “Spittal an der Drau”. This is easily accessible in about 15 minutes by car and makes covered ice-skating fun possible in any weather.
Other ice rinks:
“Nockhalle Radenthein” (approx. 12 km, 15 minutes by car)
Velden ice rink (approx. 60 km, 45 minutes by car)
